ARTIST STATEMENT

I believe that an art object is, in essence, an icon; not a mere commodity or artifact, but rather a cultural manifestation of the spirit. My work aspires to be a visual mantra, something to get lost in, while finding other ways of seeing. I have often found solace in the power and beauty of painting. Painting can speak when all else is mute.
